## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE OWNER OF N125RT SYBLE ZEIGLER ASKED ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FOR CROSSWIND INSTRUCTION. THEY DEPARTED FROM 00R ON RUNWAY 12. UPON TAKEOFF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ NOTIFIED ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND ASKED HIM TO TAKE THE CONTROLS. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT IT DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT WAS PRODUCING POWER. HE STATED THAT WHEN HE REALIZED THEY WOULD NOT MAKE THE RUNWAY HE MADE AN EMERGENCY APPROACH TO A FIELD ADJACENT TO THE AIRPORT. THE ACCIDENT SITE INDICATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED UPON TOUCHDOWN BEFORE THE LANDING GEAR BROKE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10LA222](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10LA222), Apr 23, 2010: Cross-Capps Breezy (N125RT), Livingston, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
