## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT RECEIVED WEATHER BRIEFING FROM FSS AND NOTED GUSTY WINDS LISTED FOR AVL. LANDING APPROACH TO RUNWAY 16 WAS ESTABLISHED AT AVL. UPON FLAIRING THE PILOT ENCOUNTERED A WIND GUST AS REPORTED BY ATC TO BE BETWEEN 20 TO 30 KTS AT 220 DEGS. THE RIGHT WING DROPPED AND HIT THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. UPON LEAVING THE RUNWAY THE NOSE GEAR FOLDED AND THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED FOR APPROXIMATELY 50 YARDS TO A STOP. NO INJURIES WERE NOTED TO THE PERSONS ON BOARD. MINOR DAMAGE INCURRED TO THE AIRCRAFT COWL AND PROP AREA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
