## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 2, 2010 N135CC A PA46 WAS ENROUTE FROM KPAH (PADUCAH, KY) TO KLOU (BOWMAN FIELD, KY) WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED APPROACH AND WAS CLEARED DOWN TO 4000'. AT 4000' THE AIRCRAFT RAPIDLY DECENDED TO THE GROUND IN A SLIGHT NOSE DOWN, LEFT HAND TURN. THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT FOR UNKNOWN REASONS IN INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS. WITNESSES'S DESCRIBED N135CC FLIGHT AS "TWIRLING/SPIRAL" PRIOR TO IMPACT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED ON IMPACT. THERE WERE TWO FATALITIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10FA233](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10FA233), May 3, 2010: JetProp DLX Piper PA46 (N135CC), New Albany, IN, substantial damage, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airspeed in instrument meteorological conditions, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
