## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STARTED A FLIGHT KNOWING THE WIND CONDITIONS IN THE AREA WERE GUSTY AND NOT ALIGNED WITH THE RUNWAY. HE LOST DIRICTIONAL CONTROL ON ROLLOUT AND CRASHED INTO THE BUSHES ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED OVER ON IT BACK, DAMAGING THE WINGS AND TAIL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA229](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA229), May 6, 2010: Aviat A-1B (N200HY), Moab, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate crosswind compensation resulting in a loss of directional control and impact with bushes.

## Other reports on N200HY (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20060206001469I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20060206001469I), Feb 6, 2006: Aviat A1B (N200HY), Denver, CO, Minor damage. (-23) Pilot lost control and ground looped airplane after landing. Minor damage. No injuries.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
