## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT SET UP APPROACH TO RUNWAY 29 INSTEAD OF 22. PILOT REALIZED AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT THAT HE WAS ON APPROACH TO THE INCORRECT RUNWAY AND MADE THE DECISION TO BANK SHARPLY LEFT AND LAND ON THE CORRECT RUNWAY. PILOT STALLED THE AIRCRAFT AND CRASHED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10FA259](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10FA259), May 11, 2010: Cirrus Design SR22 (N424LF), Tuscaloosa, AL, substantial damage, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed while maneuvering to land, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall/spin and collision with the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
