## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED LONG ON AN APPROVED GRASS LANDING AREA NEXT TO AND PARALLEL WITH RUNWAY 1. BECAUSE OF ANOTHER AIRPLANE ON THE "BASE LEG" FOR THE GRASS LANDING AREA, MR. LONGE DECIDED TO TAKEOFF AGAIN INSTEAD OF MAKING A FULL STOP LANDING.HE STATED THAT HIS AIRSPEED WAS SLOW ON LIFT-OFF AND HE WAS THEN HIT BY A GUST OF WIND FROM THE LEFT. THE AIRPLANE BEGAN MOVING TO THE RIGHT, AND MR. LONGE WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE DRIFT. THE AIRPLANE SETTLED INTO A DRAINAGE DITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
