## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING PRACTICE EMERGENCY LANDINGS CONDUCTED CONCURRENTLY WITH SHORT-FIELD LANDINGS, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE STUDENT RETARDED THE THROTTLES RESULTING IN A SIGNIFICANT SINK RATE. THE INSTRUCTOR ASSUMED THE FLIGHT CONTROLS AND ADVANCED THE THROTTLES WITH INSUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT THE IMPACT WITH THE RUNWAY. THE RESULTING IMPACT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE REAR TIE-DOWN HOOK AND SURROUNDING SKIN WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AND A POST LANDING INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO BASE FOR REPAIRS. CFI SPECIAL EMPHASIS TEAM MEMBERS WILL COUNSEL THE INSTRUCTOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
