## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 05/30/2010, GTIA FLIGHT 946 CTG-FLL WAS ON APPROACH (APPROX/1000AGL) TO FLL, RUNWAY 9L. THE FLIGHT DECK CREW NOTICED AN ODOR OF SMOKE AND UPON LANDING, REQUESTED TO STOP ON A TAXIWAY TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. THE CABIN CREW NOTIFIED THE CAPTAIN AND ADVISED AN ODOR OF SMOKE WAS PRESENT IN THE CABIN ALONG WITH VISIBLE SIGNS OF SMOKE. THE FLIGHT DECK CREW BEGAN CABIN/SMOKE FIRE CHECKLIST AND STOPPED TO ASSESS CABIN/SMOKE CONDITIONS. AFTER ASSESSING CONDITIONS, THE CAPTAIN INITIATED AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION. THREE FLOOR LEVEL EXITS (L1, L2, R2) WERE OPENED AND EVACUATION SLIDES DEPLOYED. R1 EXIT WAS NOT OPENED BECAUSE OF PASSENGER AND LUGGAGE CROWDING IN THE FORWARD AREA OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE OVER WING EXITS WERE NOT OPENED BY THE PASSENGERS OR CREW. FLOOR LEVEL EXIT L2 WAS USED BY THE MAJORITY OF PASSENGERS DURING THE EVACUATION. THREE PASSENGERS RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES (LACERATIONS (2)/ANKLE INJURY(1). ONE PASSENGER WAS TREATED AND RELEASED ON SCENE BY EMS AND TWO PASSENGERS WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND LATER RELEASED. THE EVACUATION TOTAL TIME WAS APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES (90 PASSENGERS/5 CREW).

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
