## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PIPER PA-20 NOT REGISTERED, OPERATED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AT 1645 JUNE 2, 2010 ATTEMPTED A TAKEOFF FROM A GRASS STRIP 5 MILES EAST OF DOVER ARKANSAS. THE PILOT REPORTED HITTING A DEER DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL NEAR TAKEOFF SPEED. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE SUBSEQUENTLY CLIPPED THE TOP OF TWO TREES IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF AND COULD NOT MAINTAIN AIR SPEED. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE SURFACE IN A HAY MEADOW 10 DEGREE TO THE LEFT AND 200 YARDS FROM THE SOUTH END OF THE DOWNHILL GRASS STRIP. A PASSENGER RECEIVED SEROUS INJURIES FROM THE IMPACT WITH THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10CA361](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10CA361), Jun 2, 2010: Piper PA-20 (N7686K), Dover, AR, minor damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from the trees during takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
