## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTED CARRYING PASSENGER DURING BALLOON FESTIVAL FOR PLEASURE FLIGHT WITHOUT COMPENSATION, AND WINDS BEGAN TO INCREASE TO 6-8 MPH. LANDING INITIATED AND BASKET TIPPED SIDEWAYS ON LANDING IMPACT. PASSENGER DID NOT HOLD ON TO BASKET AS INSTRUCTED AND WAS THROWN OUT, CAUSING BALLOON TO LIFT SUDDENLY. TETHER ROPE CAUGHT UP ON PASSENGER CAUSING MINOR INJURY BEFORE CLEARING ROPE. PASSENGER TREATED AT EMERGENCY ROOM FOR MINOR INJURIES TO WRIST AND BACK AND WAS RELEASED. NO FUTHER INJURIES REPORTED TWO WEEKS LATER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
