## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

APPROXIMATELY 1725 LOCAL, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS SPRAYING FUNGICIDE ON A CORN FIELD NEAR ALCOLU, SC. WHILE SPRAYING, HE MADE A TURN, BROUGHT THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO WINGS LEVEL AND SAW A DEAD TREE IN FRONT OF HIM. THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE TREE, THE PILOT DUMPED ABOUT 40-50 GALS OF FUNGICIDE ON A WOODED AREA AND THEN LANDED IN THE CORN FIELD. MINOR INJURIES TO THE PILOT AND SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR IS TORN OFF AND THE RIGHT WING HAS MAJOR DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
