## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED HE WAS HOVERING FOR THE LINEMAN TO MAKE WIRE SPLICES ON A POWERLINE. HE HAD A SLIGHT QUARTERING TAILWIND. THE POWERLINE HAD AN OSCILLATION AS LINEMAN WAS DISCONNECTING FROM IT, AT THE SAME TIME THE TAILWIND MOVED THE TAIL ROTOR CLOSER TO THE LINE. A TAILROTOR STRIKE OCCURRED. THE DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED UPON SHUTDOWN. THE TAIL ROTOR BLADES WERE REPLACED. THIS WAS LAST OF FOUR SPLICES MADE ON A 90 DEGREE PLUS DAY. THE LINEMAN AND PILOT WERE FATIGUED. BNA FSDO INCIDENT CE19100012.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
