## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WITNESSES STATE THE AIRCRAFT WAS CIRCLING THE AREA FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES. ON THE LAST FOUR OR 5 CIRCLES THE TURNS GOT TIGHTER AND LOWER, AND THE NOISE OF THE ENGING GOT LOUDER, AS IF THE PILOT WAS APPLYING MORE POWER. ON THE 5 PASS THE AICRAFT APPEARED TO NEARLY CLIP THE TREES, NOSED UP AND WENT IN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10LA307](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10LA307), Jun 21, 2010: Cessna 172N (N733AS), Angels Camp, CA, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control while maneuvering.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
