## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PRACTICING LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 23 IN VMC CONDITIONS WITH A LIGHT CROSSWIND FROM THE LEFT. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT AT ABOUT 1100 LOCAL, ON ROLLOUT AFTER LANDING, THE LEFT WING LIFTED DUE TO THE WIND AND HE OVER-CORRECTED WITH THE AILERON CAUSING THE RIGHT WING TO LIFT. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY TOWARD THE RIGHT AND HE APPLIED THE BRAKES "TOO FORCEFULLY" CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO NOSE OVER ONTO ITS BACK. THE STUDENT PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA334](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA334), Jun 26, 2010: Silvaire Luscombe 8A (N1516B), Gordonsville, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain directional control, and his excessive braking during the landing rollout.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
