## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS CONDUCTING MULTIPLE TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS WITH DIFFERENT PASSENGERS DURING FLY-IN EVENT AT THIS AIRPORT. ON THIRD FLIGHT, PILOT DEPARTED MID-FIELD WHEN AIRPLANE BECAME AIRBORNE AND THEN STARTED TO SETTLE ONTO THE RUNWAY. PILOT IMMEDIATELY ABORTED TAKEOFF WITH TRHOTTLE REDUCTION AND BRAKING, BUT AIRCRAFT SLID PAST END OF RUNWAY STRIKING AN EARTHEN BERM, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE, WITH NO INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA329](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA329), Jun 27, 2010: Cornett Steven M Glastar (N51MW), Smiley Creek, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to not use all available runway length and his delay in aborting the takeoff, which resulted in the airplane sliding off the end of the grass strip and colliding with a ditch.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
