## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 28, 2010 AT 1544Z DURING VMC CONDITIONS, THE PILOT WAS ON SHORT FINAL TO RUNWAY 2 AT KROG. HE NOTICED HE WAS A LITTLE SHORT FOR THE RUNWAY. HE STATED THAT HE ADDED A LITTLE BIT OF POWER AND HE THOUGHT HE WOULD MAKE THE RUNWAY. HE TOUCHED DOWN 22' SHORT OF THE RUNWAY IN THE GRASS, BOUNCED, AND TOUCHED DOWN AGAIN 56' DOWN THE RUNWAY STRIKING THE PROP, LEFT WING TIP, AND LEFT FWD PART OF THE ENGINE COWL, AND BENDING THE FIXED NOSE GEAR AFT INTO THE BELLY OF THE PLANE. THE PLANE CAME TO REST 231' FURTHER DOWN THE RUNWAY. NO PASSENGERS ABOARD AND NO INJURIES REPORTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10CA365](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10CA365), Jun 28, 2010: Piper PA-28-140 (N643TP), Rogers, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain a proper descent rate during the approach to land.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
