## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE CFI ON A TRAINING FLIGHT IN A R-22 HELICOPTER. AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 34R AT MANASSAS AIRPORT (HEF), THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY ON TO TAXIWAY B. THE CFI TOLD THE STUDENT TO PERFORM A HOVERING AUTOROTATION. THE STUDENT ROLLED OF THE THROTTLE, CORRECTED FOR YAW, AND THEN RASIED THE COLLECTIVE PREMATURELY. THIS CAUSED A HARD LANDING. THE CFI TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RAMP AND AFTER SHUTDOWN NOTICIED IT WAS LEANING AFT AND TO THE LEFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
