## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

07/01/2010, UNICOM OF AIRPORT RECEIVED DISTRESSED CALL FROM PILOT OF AIRCRAFT. PILOT REPORTED HE WAS POSSIBLY HAVING A HEART ATTACK AND COULD NOT MOVE HIS RIGHT ARM. AFTER RESPONDING TO AIRCRAFT THE UNICOM OPERATOR WAS UNABLE TO GET AN ANSWER, SHORTLY AFTER AN OBSERVER SAW SMOKE IN THE DIRECTION THE AIRCRAFT HAD LAST BEEN HEADING

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10FA324](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10FA324), Jul 1, 2010: Cessna 182P (N222CG), Avalon, CA, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's incapacitation due to a heart attack, which resulted in a loss of airplane control.

## Other reports on N222CG (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19920104000939I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920104000939I), Jan 4, 1992: Cessna 182P (N222CG), Mason City, IA. VFR pilot elected to follow highway in deteriorating weather. Saw airport light. Landed without IFR clearance.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
