## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE MORNING OF 07/03/2010 @ 0930 AIRCRAFT DEPARTED ROOSEVELT, UT (74V) FOR A LOCAL PLEASURE FLIGHT. PILOT REPORTED THAT WHEN HE WAS ABOUT 3 MILES SE OF NEOLA, UT AT ABOUT 6300 FT AGL THE AIRCRAFT HAD A PARTIAL LOSS OF POWER, WHICH HE ATTRIBUTED TO A VAPOR LOCK OF THE ENGINE DUE TO THE HEAT OF THE DAY. WHILE FOCUSING ALL HIS ATTENSION TO INSIDE THE AIRCRAFT HE FAILED TO DETECT HIS DESCENT AND STRUCK POWER LINES. HE FLEW BACK TO ROOSEVELT AND LANDED, BECAUSE OF THE WIRE STRIKE, DURING ROLLOUT THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRPLANE VEERED OFF THE RWY TO THE LEFT. MOMENTS LATER A SMALL FIRE ERUPTED AT THE AFT COWLING AREA, DUE TO THE GASOLATER BEING DAMAGED. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE ACFT WAS SUBSTANIALLY DAMAGED, AND THE PILOT HAD A MINOR INJURY. AMENDMENT PENDING FURTHER INFORMATION WHEN AVAILABLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
