## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 4, 2010, DREW SEPPMANN DID A LOCAL, VFR FLIGHT FROM RURAL MANKATO TO VERNON CENTER. WHILE NEARING VERNON CENTER, THE ENGINE QUIT AND MR. SEPPMANN ATTMEPTED TO LAND ON A CITY STREET. ON SHORT FINAL APPROACH, STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS SWAYED THE PARACHUTE INTO TREE BRANCHES, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SUSTAIN A HARD LANDING, WHICH BROKE A LANDING GEAR STRUT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
