## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT HE "JUST RAN OUT OF WATER" ON TAKEOFF FROM SHANNON'S POND. HE SAID THAT HIS FLOATS HIT A THREE FOOT TALL BERM ABOUT 50 FEET FROM THE TAKEOFF END OF THE WATERWAY. HE SAID THAT HE COULD SEE THAT HIS FLOATS "DID NOT LOOK RIGHT" AND THAT HE THOUGHT IT BETTER TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING IN THE SWAMP THAN TO CONTINUE FLYING AND HAVE POSSIBLE OTHER PROBLEMS. THE FLOATS SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE BUT THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
