## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THE PILOT DETERMINED THE AIRCRAFT HAD NOT REACHED A SAFE LIFTOFF SPEED BY THE PILOT'S PREDETERMINED GO/NO-GO SPOT. AT THAT POINT THE PILOT ELECTED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF. DUE TO A WET RUNWAY SURFACE (GRASS), THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY AND THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A SIGNPOST AND A LARGE BOULDER, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA346](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA346), Jul 12, 2010: Piper PA-32RT-300 (N2185K), Yellow Pine, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed decision to abort the takeoff. Contributing to the accident was the wet condition of the grass runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
