## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 9 AT IGX WITH CALM WINDS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OBSERVED BOUNCING FOUR TIMES. POWER WAS APPLIED, AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. THE TAIL DRUG THE GROUND IN THREE SEPARATE PLACES ALONG THE ROUTE TRAVERSED TO THE CRASH SITE. THE LEFT WING STRUCK A TREE SPINNING THE AIRCRAFT INTO A SIDEWARD SKID ALONG A ROW OF TREES UNTIL IT STRUCK A LARGE PINE TREE BRINGING IT TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE BALISTIC PARACHUTE DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT WITH THE TREE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10FA356](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10FA356), Jul 12, 2010: Cirrus SR20 (N527MJ), Chapel Hill, NC, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's improper recovery from a bounced landing and subsequent improper go-around procedure, which resulted in a loss of directional control, runway excursion, and collision with a tree.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
