## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING A LANDING AT FULLERTON AIRPORT ON RWY 24. WEATHER AT THE TIME WAS VMC AND DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A FACTOR IN THE ACCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT PORPOISED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND. THE AIRCRAFT FINALLY TOUCHED DOWN ON RWY 24 AT TAXIWAY F. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE UPON LANDING AND THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE PERIMETER FENCE JUST NORTH OF THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE FIREWALL AND LEFT WING REAR SPAR ATTACH POINT TO MAIN FUSELAGE. THE AIRCRAFT SOLE OCCUPANT WAS THE PILOT AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OF THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR ANYONE ON THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA351](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA351), Jul 15, 2010: Piper PA-28-236 (N8337A), Fullerton, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper flare and inadequate bounced landing recovery, which resulted in a hard landing and porpoise down the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
