## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED PAROWON, UT AT ABOUT NOON, IN A FLIGHT OF FOUR GLIDERS. AIRCRAFT CRASHED UNDER UNKNOWN CIRCUMSTANCES. EVIDENCE AT THE SCENE INDICATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED AT HIGH VELOCITY, NOSE DOWN, HIGH ANGLE AND INVERTED. LAST RADIO COMMUNICATION WAS WITH ONE OF THE OTHER GLIDERS IN THE FLIGHT. PILOT INDICATED HE WAS IN A DOWN DRAFT, INTENDED TO RETURN TO PARAWON IF HE COULD GET ENOUGH LIFT AND IF NOT HE WOULD LAND AT THE JUNCTION AIRPORT (U13), WHICH WAS ABOUT 13 MILES SOUTH OF THE CRASH SITE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10LA356](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10LA356), Jul 17, 2010: Parker RS-15 Sailplane (N15LQ), Marysvale, UT, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The glider's encounter with insufficient atmospheric lift to maintain soaring flight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
