## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT SIKORSKY, N950SB, MODEL SH-3H WAS ON A MAINTENANCE CHECK FLIGHT IN THE LONG BEACH HARBOR AREA. DURING THE MAINTENANCE CHECK, THE CREW REPORTED THEY HEARD A LOUD NOISE FOLLOWED BY THE NO. #2 ENGINE SHUT DOWN. SECONDS LATER, THE MAINTENANCE CREW NOTICED OIL WAS FLOWING INTO THE CABIN. THE FLIGHT CREW MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WITH ONE ENGINE OPERATING AT THE LONG BEACH POLYTECHNIC HIGH SCHOOL'S BASEBALL FIELD WITH NO FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE HELICOPTER AND NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
