## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 07/24/10 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAD FLOWN FROM HOUGHTON/HANCOCK AIRPORT ON AN IFR CLEARANCE TO OAKLAND TROY AIRPORT. HE WAS BEING VECTORED FOR AN APPROACH AT TROY WHEN HE BROKE OUT OF THE CLOUDS. HE CANCELLED IFR AND LANDED VFR ON RUNWAY 27. THE WINDS WERE GUSTY, AND ON HIS ROLLOUT HE BAGAN TO LOSE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT WEATHERVAINED INTO THE WIND. HE SLID OFF OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO A STOP IN THE GRASS NORTH OF RWY 27. NOBODY WAS INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
