## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE AIRMAN, HE APPROACHED THE UNIMPROVED LANDING AREA NEAR THE STONEY RIVER LODGE THROUGH AN AREA OF HEAVY RAIN, REDUCING FLIGHT VISIBILITY. HE STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE AIRSTRIP, IT IS SHORT AND HE LANDED A LITTLE LONG. HE DID NOT REALIZE THAT THE RAIN HAD MADE THE DIRT STRIP EXTREMELY SLICK AND AS HE APPLIED BRAKES, THEY LOCKED UP. HE DISCOVERED BRAKING ACTION WAS NIL, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE FOR A GO-AROUND. HE DECIDED TO CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD INTO THE LAKE AT THE END OF THE LANDING AREA. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP SLIGHTLY INTO THE LAKE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE, HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON ONBOARD AND WAS UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
