## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED A SOFT FIELD TAKEOFF FROM A GRASS STRIP 8 FEET WIDE. AS AIRCRAFT WAS ROTATING, RIGHT MAIN ENTERED TALL WEEDS WHICH PULLED AIRCRAFT MORE TO THE RIGHT. WHILE IN GROUND EFFECT WEEDS WERE SLOWING AIRCRAFT DOWN. AIRCRAFT WAS RIGHT OF RWY BY 20 FEET WHEN MAKING CONTACT WITH GROUND. IN THE FIELD WAS A 3 FOOT DEEP TRENCH WHICH SNAPPED OFF THE FRONT WHEEL AND RIGHT SIDE MAIN GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
