ONCE OUT OF THE CANAL, THE PILOT ELECTED TO TAKEOFF. VIDEO OF THE EVENT INDICATES THE TAKEOFF AND INITIAL CLIMB WERE NORMAL. AFTER TAKEOFF, THE PILOT BEGAN A RIGHT HAND TURN TOWARDS THE BAY AT APPROXIMATELY 100-FT AGL. AS THE AIRCRAFT BANKED, THE NOSE DESCENDED. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE WATER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA393](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA393), Aug 2, 2010: Maule M-7-260 (N3188L), Onset, MA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of airplane control during the initial climb.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
