## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE PERFORMED A WHEEL LANDING AND AFTER TOUCHDOWN HE APPLIED SLIGHT NOSE FORWARD PRESSURE ON THE YOKE TO PIN THE MAINS. A SECOND OR TWO LATER THE RIGHT WING LIFTED RAPIDLY WHICH HE TRIED TO COUNTERACT WITH RIGHT AILERON. THE INPUT OF AILERON WAS INEFFECTIVE AND FULL POWER WAS APPLIED FOR A GO-AROUND. EVEN WITH POWER, RIGHT AILERON AND RIGHT RUDDER, THE PILOT COULD NOT REGAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE POWER WAS REDUCED; HOWEVER, BRAKES WERE NOT APPLIED IN FEAR OF A NOSE-OVER. THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT, AND WENT THROUGH A FENCE AT ABOUT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND ENTERED A DITCH. THE NOSE SPUN AROUND TO THE RIGHT ABRUPTLY AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED BACK INTO THE DITCH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA391](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA391), Aug 8, 2010: Stinson 108-3 (N230SS), Bridgeport, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
