## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT LANDED AT AN OFF AIRPORT UNIMPROVED AIRSTRIP WHICH WAS OVERGROWN WITH TALL GRASS. HE STATES THAT ON LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED THROUGH A ROUGH PATCH WHICH PLACED THE AIRCRAFT IN A TAIL HIGH ATTITUDE. HE WAS UNABLE TO APPLY POWER QUICKLY ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE AIRCRAFT FROM NOSING OVER. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL STABILIZER, RUDDER, AND THE RIBS ON TOP OF THE RIGHT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC10CA072](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC10CA072), Aug 9, 2010: Piper J5C (N38532), Skwentna, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing, and his selection of unsuitable terrain for landing.

## Other reports on N38532 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19941003048389A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19941003048389A), Oct 3, 1994: Piper J5C (N38532), Anchorage, AK, Substantial damage. Lost power on climbout. Tried for road blocked by auto. Hit wires. Unable to find mechanical reason power lost.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
