## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT HAD DEPARTED THEIR PRIVATE AIRSTRIP FOR HIS SECOND APPLICATION FLIGHT OF THE DAY. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF AT APROX 200 FEET AGL PILOT HEARD A LOUD "BANG" FROM THE ENGINE FOLLOWED BY A VIOLENT AND CONTINUOUS SHAKING OF THE ENGINE. AT THIS POINT THE ENGINE WAS NO LONGER DEVELOPING POWER SO THE PILOT DUMPED THE LOAD (250 GALLONS) TO REDUCE WEIGHT IN PREPARATION FOR A FORCED LANDING. PILOT LANDED IN A THREE POINT ATTITUDE IN A GRASS PASTURE BUT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE STRIKING AN EARTHEN DITCH WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO PITCH OVER ITS NOSE COMING TO REST INVERTED.
