## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER 4.5 HOURS OF CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM KSSF, THE PILOT APPROACHED KFNM FOR A FUEL STOP. THE APPROACH AND TOUCHDOWN ON RUNWAY 25 WERE NORMAL. ON LANDING ROLLOUT, THE AIRCRAFT TURNED SHARPLY RIGHT AND BEGAN SKIDDING SIDEWAYS, DIAGONALLY OFF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE RIGHT EDGE OF RUNWAY 25, APPROXIAMTELY 1200 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED AND FOLDED ACROSS AND UNDER THE FUSELAGE. THE LEFT WING FROM MID-POINT OF ITS AILERON OUTWARD WAS BENT UPWARD APPROXIMATELY 20 DEGREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10LA474](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10LA474), Aug 11, 2010: Cessna A185F (N4492), Farmington, NM, substantial damage. Probable cause: Pre-existing damage of the through-bolt that attached the inboard end of the gear leg to the airframe hard-point, likely caused during maintenance on the gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
