## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED AN UNCOMMANDED SEVERE NOSE UP PITCH ATTITUDE.PILOT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN SOME CONTROL AS THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO NOSE OVER. THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE GROUND CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SLIDE SIDEWAYS COLLAPSING BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR AND SHEARING THE NOSE GEAR OFF. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A REST NEAR MID FIELD, ALL 4 PEOPLE GOT OUT WITH NO INJURIES. THE PILOT HAD EXPERIENCED UNCOMMANDED PITCH UP IN THIS AIRCRAFT ON TWO PRIOR OCCASIONS WITH ONE OF THEM BEING THE SAME DAY OF THE ACCIDENT WHILE FLYING ALONE.NO MAINTENANCE ACTIONS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WERE NOTED IN THE LOG BOOK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA425](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA425), Aug 16, 2010: Ryan Navion B (N5382K), Fort Myers, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The binding of the trim wheel on the instrument panel and the pilot’s improper decision to depart with a known mechanical deficiency.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
