N8611Z, A 1967 CESSNA 206 RECEIVED SUBSTANIAL DAMAGE AS THE RESULT OF HITTING A SMALL DEER LANDING ON RUNWAY 28 AT THE ST. MARIES, IDAHO AIRPORT. THE DEER STRUCK THE NOSE GEAR OF THE AIRCRAFT WHICH THEN COLLAPSED, AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF THE RUNWAY. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT THE PURPOSE OF THE FLIGHT WAS TO PROVIDE FLIGHT INSTRUCTION TO THE NEW OWNER OF THE AIRPLANE. THIS WAS THE OWNER'S THIRD FLIGHT IN THE AIRCRAFT. NO VIOLATIONS, OR LACK PILOT COMPETENCY ARE INVOLVED WITH THIS ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
