## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS WAS A LOCAL PERSONAL FLIGHT FROM A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP. THE RUNWAY WAS MOWED ABOUT THREE QUARTERS TO TWO THIRDS. THE PILOT DEPARTED FROM THE MOWED SECTION. UPON RETURN THE PILOT LANDED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE GRASS AT THIS END WAS EIGHTEEN TO TWENTY FOUR INCHES TALL. THE PILOT FLAIRED HIGHER THAN NORMAL AS A RESULT OF THE TALL GRASS CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO STALL ABOVE THE RUNWAY CAUSING A HARD LANDING.
