## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING TAKE OFF CLIMB AT 200 FEET AGL THE PILOT EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE. A FORCED, ON AIRPORT, LANDING WAS MADE. BEFORE TOUCHING DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED A FULL STALL, AT 25 FEET AGL, RESULTING IN HARD LANDING DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR, ENGINE, PROPELLER AND WINGS. DURING LANDING ROLL FURTHER DAMAGE WAS CAUSED TO THE AFT FUSELAGE, TAIL WHEEL AND ELEVATORS FROM CONTACT WITH A FENCE POST. A POST ACCIDENT EXAMINATION REVEALED LARGE SHEETS OF RANDOLPH 802 SEALANT HAD COLLECTED IN THE MAIN FUEL TANK SUMP AREA. THE LOOSE SEALANT WAS LARGE ENOUGH TO RESTRICT FUEL FLOW INTO THE FIREWALL FUEL SYSTEM STRAINER, RESULTING IN FUEL STARVATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10LA458](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10LA458), Aug 31, 2010: Bird CK (N765N), Eagles Mere, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power due to fuel starvation as a result of degradation of the fuel tank coating which blocked the fuel supply.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
