## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A NORMAL LANDING AT THE WILLOWS, GLEN-COUNTY AIRPORT, CA, THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED DURING ROLLOUT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED DURING THE LANDING. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED BY THE PROPELLER, LANDING GEAR AND WINGS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED AFTER THE ACCIDENT WHEN IT WAS RELOCATED TO A NEARBY SALVAGE FACILITY. THE FLIGHT CONTROLS WERE CONTINUOUS AND OPERATED IN THE CORRECT MANNER (RUDDER AND ELEVATORS). THE WINGS WERE REMOVED FOR TRANSPORT SO THE AILERONS AND FLAPS WERE NOT EXAMINED. THE RUDDER PEDALS OPERATED SMOOTHLY WITH NO RESTRICTIONS. THE TAIL WHEEL FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEELS ROTATED SMOOTHLY AND SHOWED NO MECHANICAL IRREGULARITIES. IT APPEARS THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED. PILOT REPORTED BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY WERE GRABBING AND TE THE PEDDLE MOVEMENT WAS STIFF.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR10CA455](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR10CA455), Sep 11, 2010: Maule MX7 (N6138Y), Willows, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the gusty crosswind condition and his failure to maintain directional control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
