## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT THEY WERE HIGH ON FINAL AND SLIPPED THE AIRPLANE TO LOSE ALTITUDE. SHE STATED THAT SHE MUST HAVE PICKED UP SOME AIRSPEED AND WAS FAST BUT DIDN'T FLOAT AND HIT THE RUNWAY VERY HARD, BOUNCING HIGH. THE AIRPLANE BOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED A BLOWN NOSE WHEEL TIRE AND ONE PROP BLADE CONTACTED THE GROUND. 09/21/10 FURTHER INSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT FOUND SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO ENGINE FIREWALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN10CA552](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN10CA552), Sep 15, 2010: Cessna 172P (N97921), Stow, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
