AIR TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 85 DEGREES AND WINDS WERE CALM. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LOADED WITH ABOUT 1500 LBS OF WHEAT SEED AND WAS ON ITS FIRST RUN AND IN A HEADING OF 270 DEGREES WHEN THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO REACH THE NEARBY GRASS AIRSTRIP PARALLEL TO A ROAD BUT LANDED IN A RICE FIELD AND ROLLED ABOUT 100 YARDS IN A 000 DEGREE HEADING. AT THIS POINT THE AIRCRAFT WAS ABOUT 50 YARDS SHORT AND 30 YARDS TO THE RIGHT OF THE AIRSTRIP. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
