## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT AT APPROXIMATELY 2500 FEET MSL AND 2-3 NM FROM THE PDK AIRPORT, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO COUCH AND SPUTTER, PILOT NOTICED ENGINE OIL PRESSURE BELOW THE YELLOW RANGE, APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS LATER THE ENGINE QUIT COMPLETELY. PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON A HIGHWAY, DURING THE DESCENT THE LEFT WING STRUCK A TREE. THE PILOT ELECTED TO LAND WITH FLAPS UP. THE AIRPLANE LANDED WITH SOME POWER AND EXCESSIVE RATE OF DESCENT AND AIRSPEED WHICH RESULTED IN COLLAPSING ALL THREE LANDING GEARS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA10CA490](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA10CA490), Sep 20, 2010: Piper PA32R (N9263R), Chamblee, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power due to fuel starvation as a result of the pilot's improper placement of the fuel selector.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
