## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT WHILE ON SHORT FINAL TO RUNWAY 27 HE ELECTED TO GO AROUND AND RETURN FOR LANDING. WHEN HE APPLIED POWER TO INITIATE THE GO AROUND THE RIGHT ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND AND ONLY THE LEFT ENGINE POWERED UP. DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONFIGURED FOR LANDING, WITH THE LANDING GEAR DOWN AND FULL FLAPS, THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT RESPOND FAVORABLY TO THE LOSS OF POWER. THE PILOT DECIDED THAT CONTINUED FLIGHT WAS NOT POSSIBLE AND ELECTED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT IN AN ADJACENT CORN FIELD, WHILE UNDER CONTROL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA003](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA003), Oct 1, 2010: Cessna 310J (N3051L), St. Johns, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure by the pilot to attain/maintain a climb rate for undetermined reasons during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
