## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2010, AN INSTRUCTOR WAS PERFORMING A TRANSITION CHECK RIDE WITH THE PRIVATE PILOT. THE FLIGHT BEGAN AT 11:10 AM. THEY TOUCHED DOWN JUST PAST THE 1000 FOOT MARKERS ON RUNWAY 10. AFTER THEY TOUCHED DOWN, THEY WERE ROLLING DOWN THE RUNWAY, PASSING TAXIWAY PAPA WHEN THE TOWER REQUESTED THAT THEY EXIT THE ACTIVE RUNWAY ON TAXIWAY PAPA. THE PLANE WAS EVEN WITH TAXIWAY PAPA WHEN THEY RECEIVED THE REQUEST TO EXIT ON THAT TAXIWAY. THE PILOT REPLIED "UNABLE" TO THE TOWER'S REQUEST. TOWER IMMEDIATELY REQUESTED AGAIN THAT THEY EXIT THE ACTIVE RUNWAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AT THAT POINT, THEY WERE AT RUNWAY 16R AND THE PILOT IN TRAINING ATTEMPTED TO EXIT ONTO RUNWAY 16R. THE AIRCRAFT SPEED WAS TOO FAST TO EXECUTE THE TURN, CAUSING THE CESSNA 195 TO GROUND LOOP. AFTER THE INCIDENT WAS OVER, THEY TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE LOCAL FBO FOR PARKING. THE POST-INCIDENT INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE LEFT GEAR, LEFT WING, AND THE LEFT ELEVATOR SECTION OF THE TAIL WERE DAMAGED. NO INJURIES AND MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. AMENDED 03/22/2011: UPGRADED TO ACCIDENT PER AVP-200

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA019](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA019), Oct 2, 2010: Cessna 195 (N4666T), Midland, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The private pilot’s loss of control during the landing roll and the certificated flight instructor’s delayed remedial action, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
