## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PRIVATE AIRSTRIP IS SURROUNDED BY TREES AND A HILL ON ONE SIDE. THE WIND WAS GUSTY FROM THE SOUTHEAST. AFTER LANDING, A GUST CAUSED THE AIRPLANE TO GO INTO A SWERVE THAT THE PILOT DID NOT RECOVER FROM. AFTER DEPARTING THE GRASS RUNWAY, THE RIGHT WING STRUCK THE GROUND, BREAKING THE SPAR. THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS PULLED OFF, CAUSING MORE DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA039](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA039), Oct 9, 2010: Aeronca 7AC (N81412), Mount Vernon, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control while taxiing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
