## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CONDUCT A FERRY FLIGHT FROM VILLAGE FALLS CT TO GREAT BARRINGTON MA. ON TAKEOFF ROLL A BUMP ON THE GRASS STRIP BOUNCED THE AIRCRAFT AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND THE TAIL CONTACTED THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED THE CORNFIELD AND THE UNDER CARRIAGE/LANDING GEAR CONTACTED THE CORN STALKS SLOWING THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT CLIMB OUT AND CAME TO REST IN A NOSE DOWN POSITION FACING WEST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA017](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA017), Oct 11, 2010: Cessna 120 (N89603), Falls Village, CT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to abort the takeoff, which resulted in an in-flight collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
