## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED AS HE ESTABLISHED HIS LONG FINAL FOR FOR LANDING RUNWAY 13 AT LEESBURG WHEN ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC ANNOUNCED THERE INTENTIONS TO LAND ON RUNWAY 13 AS WELL. THE PILOT AS A PRECAUTION WENT AROUND TO PREPARE FOR ANOTHER LANDING ON RUNWAY 13. AS HE TURNED LEFT ON CROSSWIND AT 600 FEET THE ENGINE SPUTTERED AND HE ATTEMPTED TO GET THE ENGINE RESTARTED. THE ENGINE NEVER STARTED AGAIN AND THE PLANE LANDED INTO LAKE HARRIS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA018](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA018), Oct 12, 2010: Long EZ (N539AD), Leesburg, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper fuel management, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel starvation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
