## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 23, 2010, AT APPROXIMATELY 1730, A PILOT OPERATING AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT GLASTAR N2814D ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON HEADING 200 AT A GRASS AIRSTRIP (7TA7) IN REKLAW, TEXAS. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ON INITIAL CONTACT AND LANDED HARD UPON SECOND CONTACT. THE NOSE WHEEL COLLAPSED, THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND, AND THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER ON ITS BACK. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THE PILOT SUFFERED A MINOR INJURY TO HIS HEAD. THE PILOT STATED THE WEATHER AND MECHANICAL FAILURES WERE NOT A FACTOR AND THE ACCIDENT RESULTED FROM AN ILL-ADVISED LANDING ON A LESS THAN OPTIMUM AIRSTRIP AND NOT USING PROPER TECHNIQUE OF COMPLETING LANDING SUCCESSFULLY

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN11CA036](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN11CA036), Oct 23, 2010: Frederick R Goenne Glastar (N2814D), Recklaw, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll on a rough runway surface.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
