## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 28, 2010 AT APPROXIMATELY 13:15 LOCAL TIME, N33224 REPORTED ENGINE FAILURE. SUSPECT SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO AIRCAFT DUE TO TWISTING OF FUSELAGE UPON GEAR UP LANDING IN FIELD. OBSERVED THAT THE FUEL SUPPLY LINE CONNECTING THE FUEL PUMP AND THROTTLE BODY UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE WAS DISCONNECTED AT THE THROTTLE BODY FUEL INLET SCREEN. NUT AND CONNECTOR DID NOT APPEAR DAMAGED. INDICATIONS SUGGEST THAT THE NUT ON THE FUEL SUPPLY LINE BACKED OFF OF THE FUEL SCREEN INLET DURING FLIGHT, STARVING THE ENGINE OF FUEL WHEN IT DISCONNECTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA11CA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA11CA047), Oct 28, 2010: Cessna 177RG (N33224), Bedford, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The mechanic's failure to properly secure a fuel line when it was reinstalled during an engine inspection.
