## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/06/2010 THE LIGHT-SPORT AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RWY 25 AT THE SONOMA COUNTY AIRPORT, RETURNING TO PETALUMA AIRPORT. JUST AFTER LIFT OFF WITNESSES DESCRIBED THE ENGINE NOISE AS BEING UNDER LOW POWER, BUT STILL RUNNING ACCORDING TO THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE. THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO LOOSE ALTITUDE AND CRASHED IN AN INDUSTRIAL PARK. THE AIRCRAFT BROKE INTO SEVERAL PIECES AFTER STRIKING THE GROUND AND HITTING A 6-FOOT CHAIN LINK FENCE BETWEEN A SERIES OF WAREHOUSE BUILDINGS ALONG 21877 SCHELLVILLE ROAD. BOTH PILOT AND PASSENGERS WERE INJURED AND TAKEN TO LOCAL TRAUMA CENTERS IN SANTA ROSA AND WALNUT CREEK. AT THE SCENE TWO FULL UNOPENED BOTTLES OF BEER WERE FOUND IN A COOLER UNDAMAGED IN THE REAR STORAGE COMPARMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT.
